Kenny Loggins, AKA Adventure Kenny, AKA Kenny Fucking Loggins, pretty much defined the sound of the 80′s.

Probably most notable is Kenny’s involvement in the Top Gun soundtrack. In this ‘nothing-but-hits’ soundtrack, Loggins dropped the mega hit Highway to the Danger Zone, as well as the incredibly homoerotic Playing with the Boys. (OK the beach volleyball scene didn’t help anything)

But Highway to the Danger Zone was really just the tip of the iceberg when it came to Kenny Loggins and 80′s hits.

Undoubtedly the best representation of Kenny Loggins was done by the amazing Yacht Rock series. Although Kenny is a recurring character, he really shines in Yacht Rock’s first episode:

First of all I’d like to say that Pee Wee Herman was and will forever be my homeboy. But there’s no denying that he has gone ‘up to 88′, and in a big way.

My favorite Pee Wee moments of all time were in Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. It really has everything: a quest for a stolen bicycle, Dottie looking super hot, and Large Marge (who still gives me nightmares…).

A while ago I realized that Pee Wee’s Big Adventure was directed by Tim Burton. I guess it makes sense, I mean remember the big weird dinosaur:

Remember LA Law? I have distinct memories of LA Law being regarded as progressive for having a mentally handicapped (aka retarded) character on the show. But I think the actor was of normal intelligence, so it wasn’t authentico like Corky.

The Power Glove was so super awesome in the late 80′s/early 90′s. (I mean just look at this guy)

But my friend actually got a Power Glove and it was a big let down. It didn’t really work that well and all you could play was one boring game where you bounced a ball around.

Poor Dave Thomas (of the many Wendy’s commercials) has been up to 88 for a while now, ever since he died in 2002.

A few weeks later it was really creepy because they hired this actor who looked like him to continue the commercials. At least that’s what I thought, but I can’t find that anywhere on the internet, so maybe I just made it up. Rumor mill?

Fresca was huge in the 80′s/90′s but mostly amongst kooky and eccentric people. I might be making this up, but it seemed like mostly weird Democrats. What do weird Republicans drink? Tab?

For all intents and purposes Fresca has got up to 88, but I’m sure more than a few weirdos keep it at 87.
